Art Class Rules
1. = Follow directions, first time given.
2. = Allow others to work without interruptions.
3. = NO talking during instructions, or while a teacher is talking.
4. = DO NOT get out of your seat unless it is an emergency.
5. = Use all materials properly.
All of my classes use a "red light" system. Every member of the class starts on "green." If a student breaks an art rule, they write their name in "yellow." If the student continues to break art rules or consistently disrupts the learning environment, they erase their name from "yellow" and write it in "red." Students who move to a color besides "green" can move back down to "green" if their behavior improves.
Grading Policy
All of my students are graded on the following three criteria: Participation, Effort, and Behavior. I do NOT grade their artwork, ability, or talent. Everyday the students earn a daily grade. Students have the ability to earn three different grades: "E+", "E", and "E-".
"E+" stands for "Exceeds Expectations", in order to earn this grade the student must consistently go above and beyond what is expected of them. If they end up writing their name in a box, they will not receive an "E+" that day.
"E" stands for "Meets Expectations", this grade means that they do everything required. If a student writes their name in a box, they may still earn an "E" for that day.
"E-" stands for "Below Expectations", this means that the student does not meet the requirements for my class. For example, the student could break classroom rules, not participate in the class activity, or prevent others from learning.
Art News
Hello Everyone,
We are now in FUNDRAISER MODE! I have received the order forms and they will be sent home to you shortly! Every purchase helps, so I encourage you to think about using your child's artwork as Christmas gifts for all those relatives that may not get to see all the wonderful things they do!
The due date is listed on your order form. I urge you to not put this off! Once the date has arrived and orders are due, there will be NO LATE ORDERS ACCEPTED!
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to email me.
Thanks,
