Fourth Grade Art
In 4th Grade Art at HPES opur students learn the importance of the elements of art and the principles of design. Students will explore a range of materials and subject matter. Emphasis is on the importance of historic events and environment in Virginia from colonial times to the present. The following concepts are some of the things we learn about in forth grade art.

Critical Thinking, Aesthetics, and Judgment
-Why do we create art?
-Why does art look the way it does?
-Comparing and contrasting different artists, styles, periods, and pieces.
-Writing about and responding to art.
Technology In Art
-Use Microsoft Word to create something with an artistic purpose.
-Study the career of a graphic designer
-Produce artwork using a computer and or other pieces of technology.
