Cl. 2: Fri., Jan.11, = WS 6, 7, 8 /study for Vocab AMD Irregular Pret. Stem quiz (ONLY the stems!); Work on PRETERITE YO poster (as desired/as time allows you)
Cl. 3:  Tues., Jan. 15 = Finish Preterite Yo Poster AND complete WS. pages 9, 10, 11.  Be sure to bring completed Yo Poster Rubric with your poster.
Cl. 4:  Thurs., Jan. 17 = Complete 2-sided WS passed out today. (Those that might need to, can also finish the warm-up, if not completed in class.)  Study for Verb conjugation quiz.  All types!
Cl. 5:  Tues., Jan. 22 = Read Text pp. 308-309.  Do Act. 1 and Act. 2 at the bottom of the pages.  For Act. 1, translate the sentence to English.  If true, write Cierto, If it is false, fix it in Spanish!  For activity 2, write a short answer to the question.  Do not do act. 3.  If you were absent today PLEASE try to come in before school to check your homework and make-up today's quiz.  Gracias.
Cl. 6: Thurs., Jan. 24 = Finish 20-32 of the Que/Cual/Cuales WS started in class.  Also, do WS pp. 20, 21 on pronouns that follow prepositions.  Study all well for 20 pt. quiz.  Note: We will do a thorough review, including a practice quiz before the actual one. : )
Cl. 7: Mon. Jan 28, = Finish the culture WS started in class; Complete WS 15, 16, 17 (Preterite Review).
Cl. 8: Wed. Jan 30, = No school today!  Hopefully, you're staying nice and warm inside!  On Friday, IF we meet, we will go over the homework from Monday and do the Preguntas Orales on the Test Repaso, as well as the listening.  Since the Test Repasos were passed out on Monday (not due until Tuesday), you perhaps are taking advantage of the extra day and working on those, to lighten your load over the weekend and/or Monday night.  If you find anything you'd like re-explained (have questions about), please ask on Friday!  If we do not have school on Friday, the test will, of course, be postponed until Thursday.  Also, if you intended to do the Bonus Assignment:  To me, happiness is . . . or To me, friendship is . . . today is a perfect day to do that! Hasta luego!

Friday, Feb 1:  No school "otra vez"! ) -  Hola, estudiantes!  Sure hope you're safe and staying warm!! Today, since we (again) do not have class I would like the share the following:  Please have your Test Repaso completed for Tuesday.  We will do the  Preguntas Orales as well as the Listening Practice in class on Tuesday.  Be sure to correct your work (in a contrast color) with the key provided and make note of any questions you have.  I will answer all questions on Tuesday.  For those students who would like to work ahead on a small project, there will be an oral class presentation of your Preterite Yo Poster.  The assignment sheet will be passed out on Tuesday, but this is what it will look like. : )  Since your Yo Posters were passed back to you for tweaking, and you kept your white sheets (where you copied the sentences)... you have those that you may practice from.  If you would like to get your oral presentation off of your "to do" list, we will probably have time for a few presentations on Tuesday.  If you would like to do your oral presentation on Thursday, either before or after the test, we might be able to do a few, also. But, if you'd simply like to wait for the Monday following the test, that's okay, too.  I just wanted to let you know that the oral presentation is coming up and for those that wanted something to do today, you had the extra time to practice. Remember, your sentences were in the preterite and reviewing those will be helpful for the upcoming test as well.  (Please see the rubric below. This is what your assignment sheet will look like.)

You have completed your poster and have corrected any grammar or spelling errors and are now going to present your poster to the class, sharing events you did in the past. To do this you need to study your sentences very well - memorize them!
As you present your poster to the class you should NOT read off of your poster.  You are holding the poster to point to the picture as the class listens.  Be sure to look at your audience and use your best pronunciation.  You will be graded on the rubric below.

Started presentation with Me llamo (+ name): 1
Shared 6 preterite sentences without reading them: 6 5 4 3 2 1
Overall pronunciation/grammar:        3 2 1
(3 = excellent; virtually no errors)
(2 = good; one or two small errors)
   (1 = fair; three or more errors)     TOTAL =             _____ / 10

Cl. 8:  Tues., 2/5 = Prepare for Lec. 9 Test; Be sure to correct Test Repaso in a contrast color and come to class prepared.  Since the Repasos were to be finished by class today, I passed out a short story called El baile, where you need to supply the missing preterite verb.  That is due at the start of class on Thursday.  Also passed out was a short composition with many errors.  Students were encourage to see how many errors they could find and we will go over this paragraph on Thursday, as well.

Cl. 9:  Thurs., 2/7 = Due to the late start today (and with 1st and 4th periods being shortened), we did not get everything done as planned.  We DID take the test, except for the Preguntas Orales and Listening...1st and 4th periods will finish those sections on Monday.  We did NOT go over the 1/2 sheet "find the errors" paragraph.  Students did turn in their Test Repasos and we did go over the "El baile" paragraph w/Preterite fill-ins.  New unit packets were passed out and students were provided the opportunity to see (a bit blurry) a page of the new vocab.  BUT, this page can be found on line with the Descubre 2 book on my Canvas page.  Check out the next unit on line!  Homework for tonight was to fill in the middle column of new vocab AND do the first 5 translations found on a 1/2 sheet passed out.  We will be using these sentences daily so please keep in your binders.  IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY and if it is possible, please try to come before school on Monday to make up your test.  SRT's get so busy for you and the longer one waits to make up a test, usually, the worse the grade is.  Hope you're feeling better!  Hope to see you Monday! ~Sra. Trapkus

Cl 1 of NEW UNIT., Mon. 2/11 = Today we went over the new vocab and drew an "extraterrestrial friend" from my verbal description.  Students are assigned to create one as well and a handout was given with instructions.  In addition, WS pages 4, 5, 6 were assigned.  A quiz over vocab is on Friday.  Also today I shared new IMPERFECT tense verb endings and these, too, should be memorized by Friday.  These are very easy to learn!   If you were absent today, please pick up your papers from the yellow folder outside the room.

Gutzwiler), but if you review, you will be ready to "zip through" part of the "warm-up" as I go over stories w/groups.  Have a great "what's left of" your weekend! : )

Cl. 8, Mon., 4/29 = Review Zorro, Ch. 8 as needed and take the Canvas quiz for Ch. 8.  Fill in the paperwork packets as you are able to.  Review comparatives/superlatives and be sure to save today's worksheet over those!  (Classes, if you tried last night to do the Ch. 8 and couldn't find it, it's MY fault!  I just remembered at 5:15 am today, Tuesday, that I'd forgotten to "publish" it!  It's there now!  Lo siento mucho.  Also, I went ahead and added Chapter 9....NOT to Monday's homework....but I just went ahead and got it added to the quizzes so that if anyone wanted to, they could work ahead (plus, I thought I'd better get it done so I didn't forget AGAIN!) : )
