Welcome to Mr Shirmer's Chemistry Page!
Please be aware that chemistry is a difficult course. Many students that have signed up for this course must be willing to dedicate a large amount of their time outside of school to the task of learning chemistry to this degree. It is estimated that some will spend at least one hour outside of school for each day in class. Much of the time will be in research and producing professional grade documents for class. Therefore, the student should have a great deal of organizational skills and academic ethics. You will be required to read and become skilled at many chemistry concepts before they are approached in class. Please review the guidance office policies for dropping classes before you commit yourself to this course. The prerequisites for Chemistry are successful completion of algebra and biology. For Advanced Placement Chemistry the student should have an average of 93% in each of the following classes: Chemistry, Biology, and Algebra II. If you are below this in any area please review the seriousness of this endeavor.
