Welcome to High School 101! My name is Scott Stevenson, and I will be your instructor this semester.
First a little but about me. I am a Business teacher at Ashley Ridge and have been teaching in DD2 for fifteen years. I have been a business owner, a Regional Sales Manager for Unilever, Inc., have a Marketing degree from the University of South Carolina, and an MBA from The Citadel. I am the Adviser for the Future Business Leaders of America chapter at Ashley Ridge, and am also a South Carolina Financial Literacy Master Teacher. I have taught High School 101 many times before, and always enjoy my time with brand new Swamp Foxes.
So, what is High School 101, anyhow? High School 101 is a course created to help young teens transition to their new high school setting. Part of what we will do is to help students learn to set goals, manage conflict, plan an academic future, investigate career options, start on a path to personal financial literacy, improve time management, sharpen technology skills, and much more! High School 101 is our way to welcome you to Ashley Ridge High School and start you on a four year path to great success.
