Welcome to the AMS 'Ukulele Club page! Last year we started the year with 87 students and more interested each week. But as the year went on we ended with a core group of about 20 students. We had 10 students preform in last year's Extravaganza to great acclaim and Karsten performed a solo rendition that earned him a standing O!
Sadly, the 17th Annual Northern California 'Ukulele Festival usually held the last Sunday of April did not happen in 2010. The organizers lost the use of the facility in Hayward because of the state budget cuts. The festival was in conjunction with the Hayward Adult School and Hayward Unified School District. It looks like they will be resuming the festival this year (2011) at Chabot college in Hayward. I will post more info as it becomes available.
Posted here will be links to fun and interesting web pages related to the 'ukulele. I will also post the dates of upcoming Ukulele Festivals as I know about them and places where students might find 'ukuleles and other musical needs.
So come and join the fun. Wherever there is a 'ukulele there is fun to be had!
