Process (make sure you print out the rubric to learn how to present items to me - the rubric is a learning tool)
- What is a Webquest? Well, use Wikipedia (this is similar to Wikalong) to find out here.
- Now, that you have an idea, I want you to use the lowest level of Bloom's Taxonomy - the Knowledge Level, to make a List of the the steps needed to design a WebQuest.
- Use the Poster Project (if you don't want full credit) or use the Web Worksheet Wizard (click here to learn about the wizard) to list the steps needed to design a Webquest. The Web Worksheet Wizard is an application created by the same folks - HPRTEC - who designed the poster project and rubistar
- Use this website to learn about the steps.
- I am not looking for anything fancy, just a the list using a new medium, the Web Worksheet Wizard.
- Explain how to adapt and enhance an existing webquest.
- Use the quia quiz feature to create a quiz that explains your knowledge of the steps needed to adapt and enhance an exisiting webquest. You are using your gained knowledge creatively - there is not one right way to make a quiz.
- Use this website to learn about the steps.
- Compare and contrast two WebQuest design patterns.
- Use the rubistar web site to compare and contrast two webquest design patterns
- Use this as a model ( rubistar can also be an organizing tool ;-) ).
- Please keep in mind that the model above would only receive a 1 according to my evaluation rubric
- Improve upon a webquest chosen from the San Diego State matrix of examples.
- Follow each of the steps from the website you used on part B.
- Use the webquest matrix to find a webquest (details on how to use this page are in a wikalong I wrote associated with the webquest matrix) you would like to alter. When you find a webquest that sparks an interest, email the author to ask permission to alter their webquest on a new quia page, the last one for this course.
Since the course is running out, please do not wait for a response in order to complete this trail. (if you eventually use this webquest, make sure you have permission - this is a courtesy).
- Use the Wikalong associated with this trail to post:
- The link to the webquest you chose
- Your name right after the link.
- I will gather all the html code for you and post it on a discussion forum called HTML codes.
- If you can get the code yourself and do this - HOOOORAY!, Please skip adding your name to the wikalong and move on to the next step.
- If you want to learn how, ask me on a discussion board - it isn't too hard, especially with Firefox
- Copy and paste this code into the message section of your new quia page with the requirements I ask for on the rubric.
- If you would like to skip the html portion than do this: - (I had this brainstorm the other day and I apologize for getting it to you so late).
- Visit the URL of the webquest you wish to alter
- Open Wikalong
- Make your webquest suggestions IN THE WIKALONG
- DON'T FORGET TO SAVE YOUR WORK!!!!!
- In your final email, tell me that you made changes in the wikalong
- *note - I altered the rubric for wikalong users
- Read a case study and decide on the appropriate webquest based on instructional purpose.
- When you are ready for this step in the process (that means that you have completed steps A - D and I know about it ;-), email (this email will not count against you according to the rubric) me so that I can send you a case study for you to answer.
- Directions for this section will be sent with the case study as well as a rubric for evaluation.

Evaluation
This week's trail will be evaluated with this rubric.
