Welcome to 2nd grade!
I am looking forward to teaching your children this year! Our second grade team is planning an amazing year, and we are very excited to get started! Our second grade team this year will be Mrs. Brenda White, Mr. Jason Teague, and myself, Mrs. Yolanda Miller.
Upcoming events!
Open house will be held on Thursday, August 2nd at 6:30pm. We will start with TATV, and a PTA meeting, then you will have time to meet our 2nd grade team, and all of the faculty and staff. My room is 4a, one door down from Mrs. White's room. At this time you will pick up your Introduction folder, drop off any supplies, and check out your new home for this school year.
The first official day of school is Monday, August 6th. We are going to have a wonderful day! It is a HALF-DAY of school and we'll dismiss at 11:30am. No school lunch will be served- but we will have a special snack.
The second grade teachers will host an important parent informational meeting on Thursday, August 9th at 5pm. This is separate from, and just as important as Open House. Please try to attend.
School supply lists can be found on the Towne Acres website. Do not feel obligated to shop prior to Open House. Tax-free weekend is August 3rd-5th and I know that every little bit helps.
You will receive an important packet of information the night of Open House or on the first day of school. Please return all forms as quickly as possible. Second grade teachers will communicate primarily by email, so please be sure we have your email address that you check daily. I would also like to try a new network system called "Celly". It allows us to group-text important information that you need quickly, homework assignment changes, etc. via text messaging. Please also be sure we have your number to be a part of that group. I think we will all find it very advantageous.

Our wonderful school days begin at 8:15am every weekday, and we dismiss each afternoon at 3:15pm.
