What crazy weather we've been having! I hope we are able to have a full week of school next week.

We will be finishing up this past week's plans on Monday. We will have our spelling test for the ar, er, or words on Monday, as well as the vocabulary/comprehension test for Life on the Ice.

On Tuesday, we will begin our new reading story and skills. The story is an excerpt from the novel Sarah, Plain and Tall (one of my favorites!)

Students should be working on their new AR goals. This information should be in your child's binder. Let me know if you have any questions. The new goals have been put into the AR program, so your child should be able to track his/her progress. Students should be half-way toward their goal by mid-term (Feb. 7).

Homework for next week was sent home in the blue folders. It will be due next Friday, January 31st. Several students are not completing the entire assignment or are not turning it in on time. Please help your child to begin working on homework early! Let me know if you have any questions.

Just a reminder: Please look at your child's assignment book AND Star behavior sheets nightly. Please initial both each night (or at least weekly!!)

***The School Board will make a decision for the make up day for January 22nd at the February board meeting.

Remember to continue to send in Boxtops for Education and Campbell's Soup Labels. Our Student Council is also recycling juice pouches if you want to collect and send these in as well.
