Week 7 (10/11/16) - DC Motor Starting Methods, AC/DC Contact Ratings, Ladder Logic, Code.org, Ardublock and subroutines
Week 8 (10/18/16) - Complete Ardublock coding for Interactive Traffic Light Control
Week 9 (10/25/16) - Drive a DC Motor. Develop IDE Ardublock equivalent
Week 10 (11/01/16) - Review Ardublock code for DC Motor control
Interfacing low voltage Arduino with Higher voltage output devices
Start Opto-isolator Arduino control of 12v fan
Week 11 (11/08/16) - Solid State DC Drives
Complete Opto-isolator fan control. Treadmill disassembly begins
Week 12 (11/15/16) - Arduino PWM control of Treadmill DC motors using MOSFETs
Use modified Arduino example FADE sketch to ramp treadmill motor up and down using MOSFET
Complete treadmill disassembly and discuss building robotic cart using plywood, two treadmill
motors, swivel caster, 12V batteries, arduino with MOSFETs/PWM control

Week 13 (11/22/16) - Discuss H Bridge and Ultrasonic sensor requirements for robot cart.

for caster and 4x4 studs. Begin video documentation
Week 14 (12/06/16) - More Robocart wood work, Modify HK2WD Obstacle detection program
to correct motor and servo settings. More video documentation

Week 1 (1/17/17) - Digital Logic
PLC Trainer Demo, Ladder Logic Basics, Coils and NO/NC contacts, Internet Protocol
Video - Click PLC Ethernet Fast Start
Week 2 (1/24/17) - Project discussion, Team setup
Laptop/PLC IP settings, Laptop/PLC ethernet connection
Week 3 (1/31/17) - Basic Control Circuits, Schematics & Diagrams (Circuit 1)
Project discussion, begin layout
Week 4 (2/07/17) - Developing a Wiring Diagram (Circuit 1) for Alarm silencing circuit
Students began cutting and drilling Lexan, drilling case for Lexan hinges
Lexan cut to sit on hinges above PLC. Students documented with hand
drawings of case layout w/measurements and also shot smartphone video.
Week 5 (2/14/17) -Timed Starting for Three Motors (Circuit 2)
Continue cutting and drilling for PLC Trainer Cases
Week 6 (2/21/17) - Float Switch Control of a Pump and Pilot Lights (circuit 3)
Lexan cuts, mounting holes, hinge mounting, bracket holes and mounting, and DIN rail mounting completed
Groups started drilling holes for Push Buttons and switches
Switches require 1/4 inch diameter, Push Buttons require 9/32 diameter
Week 7 (2/28/17) - Reading Large Schematic Diagrams
Groups completed hole drilling for Toggle Switches, Push Buttons, and LEDs
Groups began mounting same.
Week 8 (3/07/17) - Installing Control Systems

Groups began schematic diagrams and common connector soldering
Week 9 (3/14/17) - QUIZ CATCH UP
Week 10 (3/21/17) - The Bounceless Switch and Start-Stop Push Button Control

Completed soldering of commons and did some bracket relocation
Continue PLC ProfiCAD schematic
Review CAT5 wiring and colors, PLC terminal block labels, and wire routing
Week 11 (3/28/17) - Continue Schematics and begin wiring PLC power using DIN rail Terminal Blocks
Week 12 (4/04/17) - Programmable Logic Controllers
Continue Schematics, solder push buttons and LEDs
Week 13 (4/11/17) - Continue schematics and soldering
Meter continuity checks, start PLC wiring connections
Week 14 (4/18/17) - Programming a PLC
Discuss final modifications made to all trainer kits
Connect laptops to PLCs, test communications, program basic test ladder
Confirm operation of all toggle switch inputs, pushbutton inputs, and LED outputs
Final programming project - Chapter 54 Figures 54-2 and 54-4
Program first line with Start/Stop pushbuttons and seal-in contact(then test)
Complete remaining lines of program and test successfully with toggle switches and timer
