Dandelions start to blossom very early in the spring. Some
of the leaves stay green all winter. When warm weather
comes flowers peep from the center of the leaves. The
flowers are yellow and look very pretty in the green grass.
At night the flowers close up tight and do not open until
the sun is up. If the day is cloudy and rainy the flowers
do not open at all but stay asleep all day.
Leaves of the dandelion are often stewed and eaten as
greens. They are very good. Have you ever eaten any of them?
