English IV Unit 1 Beowulf Sequencing
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS AN "ALL-OR-NOTHING" ASSIGNMENT. You have an unlimited number of chances to complete it, but even one wrong answer will result in a zero. Feel free to retake this as many times as you desire. The order in which a story is told greatly influences its impact on the reader. Telling a tale in chronological order is often the best approach, but it is sometimes more effective to use flashbacks to provide information about earlier events. In a flashback, the story's linear narrative is interrupted to recount some aspect of the past, such as a scene, emotion, thought, or conversation. Flashbacks often enhance the reader's understanding of a character's personality. Several flashbacks in "Beowulf" deepen the reader's knowledge of Beowulf's character.
