“Mother,” called Harold, “Brownie has a new trick to show you.”
Harold’s mother looked up from her sewing as the dog and young master entered the room. Brownie wagged his long, fluffy tail. He looked at Harold as if to say, “hurry! I’m all ready for the show!”
Harold held up a piece of meat. “Now, Brownie, count, one, two, three, four, and you can have this big piece of meat.”
“Bow-wow-wow-wow!” barked Brownie.
“Good boy!” said Harold, as he patted Brownie’s soft fur.
