AP Grammar 2-1

As you are working through these subject-verb agreement exercises, wherever a phrase follows the subject, draw an imaginary line through it so that it won't mislead you. Then, selects the verb or helping verb that agrees in number with the subject.

EXAMPLES:
1. One of the sleeves (look, looks) too short.
2. The biggest bargains (is, are) the raincoats.

NOTE: Since some indefinite pronouns may be singular or plural, you may need to refer to the phrase after the subject to determine the number.
