Avoiding Run-On Sentences
Correct each run-on sentence in two ways: (1) by starting a new sentence and (2) by inserting a semicolon. Write only the words before and after the punctuation mark. For each sentence that is not a run-on, write C in the box.
EXAMPLE: The weather was bad, consequently, the meeting was poorly attended.
YOUR ANSWER: bad. Consequently
YOUR ANSWER: bad; consequently
EXAMPLE: If you cannot follow the plot of a movie, then you will lose interest.
