The Past Perfect a.k.a "Pluperfect" is formed the same in Spanish as in English. It is a two part or compound verb tense. Use the helping verb haber "había" along with the past participle of the main verb. (ado & ido) Ex. She thought that she had arrived late. (Ella pensó que había llegado tarde.)
