College Placement Level I - Exercise 1
This quiz simulates the questions typically found in the first level of mathematics placement tests used by colleges and universites.
A very high score on this simulation indicates readiness for a beginning or elementary algebra course offered at a community college.
A middle or low score indicates a need to review basic arithmetic concepts and that enrollment in a basic arithmetic or pre-algebra course at a community college is a better option.
Levels II and III (under construction) of this simulation help determine placement in university-level mathematics courses.
There are 25 problems divided into 1) operations with whole numbers, fractions, and mixed numbers, 2) operations with decimals and percents, and 3) applications with rates, percents, measurement, and simple geometry problems.
