11.4 Correcting Sentences with Introductory Elements by Adding Commas
Directions: Review IEnd Marks & Commas at the Revere Writing Lab website. Then choose the sentence punctuated correctly. Rule 25j: Use a comma after certain introductory elements. (1) Use a comma after words such as WELL, YES, and NO when they begin sentences. Interjections such as WOW, YIKES, and HEY, if not followed by an exclamation point, are also set off by commas. (2) Use a comma after an introductory participial phrase. (3) Use a comma after 2 or more introductory prepositional phrases. (4) Use a comma after an introductory adverb clause.
