11.8 Correcting Sentences by Adding Commas
Directions: Review End Marks & Commas at the Revere Writing Lab website, and then choose the sentence punctuated correctly. Rule 25l: Use commas in certain conventional situations. (1) Use a comma to separate items in dates and addresses. (2) Use a comma after the salutation of a friendly letter and after the closing of any letter. (3) Use a comma after a name followed by an abbrevion such as JR., SR., or M.D., and after the abbreviation when it is used in a sentence. Rule 25m: Do not use unnecessary commas.
