1.2 - Experimental Design

Cause-and-effect relationships are constantly examined/discovered in scientific studies and experiments. Indeed, “science” would have been confined largely to mental exercises that bear little or no impact on everyday life if it had not been for the science laboratories. Scientists regularly experiment to test/discover ever new frontiers in scientific knowledge. Designing valid experiments is simply central to the study of science. To show what you know about experimental design, you will design an experiment to test the claim(s) in a magazine advertisement.

Make sure that: (1) You discuss -- and agree -- with your lab partner about your experimental design; (2) Turn the actual ad in with your names on it.
