D.O.C. Responsibility
Responsibility is doing what you are supposed to do, thinking ahead, making a plan, trying your best and persevering. We learn to be responsible at school, at home, and in our everyday life. We all have things that we are supposed to do. We are responsible to take care of ourselves, like brushing our teeth every day. We are responsible to do our homework every week and turn it in. We are responsible when we think ahead and plan what we need to do to finish our jobs. This means we should not wait to do our homework at the last minute. We are responsible to always do our best even when the job is hard. This is persevering, which means to keep trying and not give up. Responsible people think before they act and think about what would happen if they make poor choices. Responsible people fix their mistakes cheerfully. A responsible student would get new homework from the teacher if it was lost or by walking away from someone who teases. Responsible people are self-reliant and self disciplined. This means that a responsible child would pick up toys without someone asking. It means that someone could count on this person to get the job done.
