Robin and Roger Van have a pet basset hound named George. One day they decided to give George a bath. For the task they selected a cake of the most elegant, expensive, and fragrant bath soap they could find. Nothing was too good for their pet. George was the best lathered and perfumed hound in the neighborhood that day.

The next morning, the basset hound could be seen frantically digging a hole in the lawn. His excavation apparently complete, the dog dashed off and retrieved something. he returned to the hole and methodically buried the object.

Never before had anyone in the Van family observed George digging and burying. The dog's ATYPICAL behavior was intriguing. The family members, their curiosity aroused, reopened the site of the little CANINE EXCAVATION. Would you believe that they found the bar of soap?
