Rate= Part/Base Multiply the base by the rate to find the increase amount. Part=Base X Rate Add the increase to the original amount to find the new total. Find the decrease by subtracting the current amount from the previous amount. Divide the decrease by the previous amount to find the percent of decrease. Rate=Part/Base To find the base, change the rate to a decimal and divide the part by the rate. Base=Part/Rate
