1Have you ever tried skin diving? 2Skin diving is the sport of swimming underwater without a face mask and flippers, but without a portable breathing device. 3Last summer, I visited Florida and became courageous enough to try it. 4Though I am a skin diving novice, I did undertake an exploration of the ocean bottom. 5My past experience with catfish, slimy snails and crayfish in no way prepared me for the oceans spectacular, abundant marine life. 6It was unbelievable to see so many unique creatures swimming and slithering along! 7I hoped to see an octopus possibly acquire a souvenir from barnacle-covered shipwreck, but no such luck. 8I did encounter a squid at least that’s what I think it was. I’d always enjoyed squid, but never again will I devour this delicacy. 9I’ll remember it as a friend I met while on vacation.
