"Hurry up!" called Mrs. Chang. "Everything else is in the car, and Suzy and I are ready to go." Richard came running down the stairs, carrying a suitcase and a small backpack.
"I think I've packed enough for a month, not just for a week," Richard said. "I can put these in the car now."
"Fine," his mother replied. "But do hurry. We want to meet Dad there and get the tent set up before dark."
As they were driving, they suddenly heard a loud BANG! Mrs. Chang held on to the steering wheel firmly and guided the bouncing car over to the side of the road. "What a pain!" she exclaimed softly as the car came to a stop.
"What do we do now?" Suzy asked, trying to keep her voice calm.
"Well, it's actually kind of simple . . . and you kids can help me. Come on, let's unpack the trunk of the car first. Then I'll give you your first lesson in tire changing."
