Paragraph Ordering: "Not So Funny Money"
This is a "paragraph puzzle" or a "scrambled paragraph." Doing these takes careful analysis, which can be helpful in being aware of how strong essays are set up.
You will get to know the outline and sentences or phrases that provide organizational information. These include the thesis statement, topic or claim sentences, and transitional phrases; sometimes transitions are called "orienting phrases" or "echoes of previous paragraphs." Read the entire sentence before making your decision -- that way a transitional phrase won't throw you off. Proceed first to group the sentences according to its claim or topic, and then analyze the sequence of those sentences on a particular claim or topic.
After you submit, REVIEW THE ANSWERS and see where you made any errors. For now, this is an activity. Later on, it will be a quiz, so please practice it until you get it right!
