For the subjonctif, you must understand the meaning of the sentence. You will need to use the subjonctif notes and perhaps a dictionary to understand the words you don't know.
Remember on Canvas that there is a link to a verb conjugation site that could be useful when you feel unsure of tenses like futur antErieur etc. When conjugating in the subjonctif, it will be better for you to use the notes, so you begin to internalize the stems.
