Instructions: Read the article. Then choose True or False. Tomorrow is a special day. It’s my sister Barbara’s birthday, and I’m planning the party for her. She really wants something small and quiet, so I’m only inviting a few people. She wants to spend the evening with family and close friends. How many people are coming? I think ten is a good number: five of her friends and our brothers. Barbara and I have three brothers. I’m her only sister. Our parents are traveling in Asia, so they are not coming. My apartment is small, but I think I have enough space. I’m very busy today. I have to decide where the guests sit, write a shopping list, and of course, make a menu. What is Barbara’s favorite food? Hmm... this is difficult because she always talks about her good diet. Barbara is a very healthy person. I know she eats about eight oranges a week, and drinks milk and water every day. She exercises a lot too. I’m not like Barbara at all. I love desserts and eat cake and ice cream whenever I want! My shopping list: some cheese fruit juice chicken butter some mushrooms water (3 bottles) salad tea candles eggs soda Menu: salad pasta with chicken a birthday cake (chocolate or strawberry) We can begin at seven o’clock. The guests can eat a cheese and mushroom plate before dinner. A salad with the pasta and chicken is a good idea. It’s simple and healthy. I know Barbara doesn’t like desserts, but everyone needs to celebrate their birthday with a cake. Ha! Ha! She can blow out the candles and then give it to me to eat!
