Unit 4 Review: Cells and Membranes - Due Wednesday Dec 4th at 8 am.
Below is a list of the Cell & The Membrane Units Learning Targets.
I can:
1. Identify the parts of the microscope in terms of their function.
2. Describe the three parts of the cell theory.
3. Identify the scientists that contributed to the creation of the microscope & the discovery of the cell.
4. Compare and contrast eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells in terms of their size, nucleus presence, and organelle presence.
5. Explain the function of organelles, including mitochondria, chloroplasts, nucleus, and ribosomes in terms of what they produce and what process they are apart of.
6. Explain the function of organelles, including endoplasmic reticulum, golgi apparatus, vacuoles vesicles, and lysosomes.
7. Differentiate between plant and animal cells in terms of the possession of organelles including chloroplasts, mitochondria, and cell walls.
8. Describe the form and function of the plasma membrane in terms of the phospholipid bilayer, the fluid mosaic model, and the selective permeability.
9. Compare and Contrast passive transport (including diffusion, osmosis, and facilitated diffusion) and active transport (including endocytosis and exocytosis) in terms of the use of energy, the kinds of molecules being moved, the direction of movement with respect to concentration gradients.
10. Evaluate situations about concentration gradients and selectively permeable membranes to predict particle movement across membrane in terms of direction and the outcomes of that movement in terms of change in shape, size, or volume.
