Essay Question (Post to Google Classroom):
Analyze the literary elements used within your original science fiction or fantasy realm story. The assignment instructions included "Use literary elements including sensory imagery, similes, metaphors, foreshadowing and characterization to create an original suspenseful tale."
Create a table listing 6-8 specific literary devices that you used in your story to create suspense.
Include the following details in your story:
1. Type of literary device,
2. Definition of the literary device (i.e "Irony refers to..."),
3. The passage from your story that contains the literary device. Use bold face type for the word(s) with the literary element. 4. An explanation of how each literary device enhances the reader's understanding of the characters, setting, mood or driving questions (suspense) within the story.
4. The attachments below provide some PRO-TIPS for creating suspense in fiction.
Write 3-4 paragraphs detailing whether these strategies were used in your story OR how they might be used to revise your story to make it more compelling. Include a Works Cited page in MLA 8 format listing 2-3 fiction-writing websites that you used for your PRO-TIPS essay.
