IF clauses in the present use indicative (NOT subjunctive) because they are viewed as concrete.

IF clauses in the past usually use imperfect subjunctive because they are viewed as hypothetical situations. Frequently they combine with the conditional to express what WOULD happen in that situation.
ejemplo: Si yo tuviera un millón de dólares, me mudaría a una casa más elegante y grande.
