French I: FHS, practice some of our recent irregular verbs

Below are 20 questions, each using the verb vouloir (to want), pouvoir (can, to be able to), faire (to do or to make) and / or aller (to go). EACH QUESTION HAS ONLY ONE CORRECT ANSWER. You should consider both meaning and form ("vais" is only a form for "je", it couldn't be matched with a "tu").

Some sentences have two verbs in a row, so remember the rule: if there are two verbs in a row, the first verb is conjugated (has varied endings relating to the subject of the sentence) and the second verb is in the infinitive, or "to" form (like ALLER = "to go," not "he goes" or "I go"). The first verb may be surrounded by the negative ("ne" and "pas"). Don't forget to look beyond that verb to see if there is another one that follows. Consider your answers very carefully before choosing one. Bon courage!
