Definitions: Hyberbole=an extreme exaggeration used to get a point across. Personification=giving a human quality to a nonhuman object. Simile=a comparison between two things which uses the words “like” or “as”. Metaphor=a direct comparison between two things. Alliteration:the repetition of the same sounds or of the same kinds of sounds at the beginning of closely related words. Imagery:a word or phrase that appeals to one of our senses. Onomatopoeia:a word that imitates/sounds like the word that it describes. For questions 1-8, each question gives two examples of the SAME type of figurative language. Identify which type of figurative language is used.
