THE WOLF AND THE GOAT

A wolf went out to look for his dinner. Up on a steep chiff stood a little goat.
“I must have that goat,” said the wolf. “But how can I reach her?”
“Little goat,” said the wolf, “I am afraid that you will fall.”
“Do not be afraid,” said the goat. “I will not fall.”
“But I am afraid. Please come down here. There grass is sweet and fresh.”
“I thank you,” said the goat. “But I know what you want with me. I will stay where I am. I do not want you to eat me up.”
Then the goat shook her horns and ran away. The goat ran far away, and the wolf had no dinner.
