ESIA Chinese (simplified) Diagnostic Exam

If you have taken this test before, please be sure that it was more than two months ago. You are only allowed to re-take this test after two months have passed.

This test is designed to give you an approximate idea of the state of your reading proficiency in Chinese.
To ensure that the results are as accurate as possible, do not use outside aides of any kind.

-You are given 90 minutes to complete this test without using any dictionaries or online resources.
-You can take this test up to three times (but only once every two months).
-You can listen to the audio files four times.

IMPORTANT! Do not seek outside help, either from reference works or friends! Remember that this is only a diagnostic test. If you get outside help, you’ll get an inaccurate score of your language skills.
