Listen to the short recordings (you may slow the speed to .75 by clicking the settings button when the recording pops up) and, using your vocabulary sheet (Chapter 1A), choose a German response that makes sense with what you hear. For example, if you hear Hallo, it would make sense to respond with Guten Tag! Some questions will also require you to identify if you are speaking in the formal or informal form and if it is informal, you may have to distinguish between singular (du form) and plural (ihr form).
Using your notes about the three different forms of you as well as your vocabulary list will be helpful as well.
Note: Formell means formal and Vertraut means informal.
