Placement test for Dual Enrolment (DE) Chemistry
DE Chemistry is paced faster than any other high-school course. Our curriculum follows the first year college level Chemistry. We'll be covering more material and going into more detail than Honors Chemistry class. During our lab assignments, we will focus on accuracy of the measurement and scientific calculations. In order to succeed in this class, some foundational knowledge is required, together with basic critical thinking skills, and a willingness to face challenges. But don't fear, help is available every step of the way. Others have done it before you, you can do it, too.
Instructions:
Read ALL the questions carefully. You might not understand some of the questions at first, but do NOT let that throw you off. Try your best, even if your answer is incomplete. Partial credit is possible.
You will not need any materials/supplies to complete this test. (No phones or search engines please, those will only slow you down.) The questions are designed so that you can solve them in your head. There are no retakes for this assessment and you won't be allowed to go back after you submit your answers. When you hit the "Start Now" button, you will have 20 minutes to complete a 14 question test. Most questions are quick and straightforward, based on High School Algebra or Physical Science standards. You should not spend more than 40 seconds on those. There is one question however, that you will have to think through and type-in a detailed solution using chronological steps. The ordering of questions is random, so you might be presented with this "longer" question in the beginning, toward the middle, or at the very end of your placement test. Please, plan your timing accordingly.
Okay, so now type in your legal first and last name and wait for the secret word to be announced. Once you type it in and click "Start Now", your time will begin. Good luck!
