En español el verbo estar (to be) se usa para indicar acciones que son temporales. Yo ESTOY cansado. (I am tired.)
El verbo estar en el Tiempo Presente Simple se conjuga así:
SINGULAR PLURAL
Yo estoy Nosotros estamos
Tú estás Ustedes están
Ella está Ellas están
Él esta Ellos están
Objeto está los objetos están
Vosotros (You all in Spain) estais
El verbo esta se usa también para conjugar el tiempo (tense) Presente Continuo. Para indicar que usted ESTÁ HACIENDO (You are doing) algo en este momento.
HAY- There is- There are- It means that something exists.
Estar - to be. to indicate that something not only exists, but it is also present at the moment of speaking. For example:
El perro está en casa. (The dog exists, but also it is present at home.
