Autobahn_Project Nazi: The Truth Behind Germany's Autobahn and People's Car

Synopsis of the documentary: Adolf Hitler promised to make Germany strong and modern again by building thousands of kilometers of superhighways called the Autobahn and creating an affordable "People's Car" for every family. He claimed these projects would create jobs, boost the economy, and give ordinary Germans a better life after tough times following World War I. The Nazis used massive propaganda to make people believe Hitler personally invented the Autobahn and that it was a huge success in ending unemployment. In reality, plans for motorways existed before the Nazis came to power, and the roads were more about propaganda and showing off Nazi power than purely military or job-creating reasons. Many workers, including forced laborers during the war, were harshly exploited to build the highways, and far fewer miles were actually completed than promised. At the same time, Hitler pushed for the "People's Car," which became the Volkswagen Beetle, designed by engineer Ferdinand Porsche. Germans were encouraged to save money through a special program to buy these cheap cars in advance. However, almost no one ever received a car because the factory switched to making military vehicles during World War II. The Nazi party kept the savings money from the people, turning the whole "People's Car" idea into a big scam. Overall, the documentary shows how these famous projects were mostly tools for Nazi propaganda, control, and war preparation rather than real benefits for everyday Germans.
