What is the purpose of this assessment?
This self-assessment provides you practice with identifying why French is a valuable second language to learn, where French is spoken, how it is similar to English linguistically and culturally.
Why do I need to master this content?
You need to be able to identify areas of French influence in the United States and abroad as well as make connections between what you already know in English that is the same as or similar to French to help you learn the language more quickly and effectively. Additionally, understanding the importance of the French language will help you recognize the value in learning it and how it can benefit you.
