The Ruinart Challenge is comprised of a 40-minute written blind tasting exam of four wines. Wines can be from any region in the world—still or sparkling! The blind wine tasting questions will test your knowledge on country of origin, vintage, variety, pairings, serving temperature, and ageability. All responses are written.

All applicants must reside within the United States. To participate in the trip to Champagne, a valid passport is required. Winners agree to conduct themselves in a professional manner throughout the trip and acknowledge that inappropriate behavior may result in termination of the scholarship.

This year at the Honolulu, Charleston, and Denver Challenges, there will be an opportunity to nominate one aspiring sommelier that you’re mentoring to attend the lecture and lunch portions of the day. Ten nominees will be selected to attend each event. Please indicate below whether you would like to nominate someone, and the Ruinart team will reach out with additional information if selected.
