Roof and Dock Drain - Nov 2013
ALL STORES MUST COMPLETE THIS TASK - It’s time to inspect Roof Drains and Dock Drains. A Store Manager or Assistant Manager should take on this General Housekeeping task: • Perform a visual inspection of the roof surface conditions. if there are any concerning issues, foliage growing, water ponding, access panels or belts off the roof top units, or other large debris, take a photo and contact Maintenance at Maintenancedept@smartandfinal.com • Recent winds may have blown leaves and other debris onto the roofs of your stores blocking drains and rain gutters. Please proceed safely onto your roof and clear debris (leaves, bottles, gravel, trash, etc.) so rain water can drain properly. If your drains become clogged, roofs will pool with water and can cause major damage and/or safety issues. • Also, many dock areas contain trash that can get drawn into your sump pump and cause failure and flooding that could disrupt your loads. • Please have someone check these critical areas before the rain starts. Preventative Maintenance is definitely a Best Practice! Due: Nov 22
