ADVANCED COLLEGE CREDIT PLACEMENT ENGLISH
Course Description: This course emphasizes the development of skills in critical reading of literature and in writing about literature and related ideas. It is for students capable of doing college-level work who are willing to devote the energy necessary to complete a course more rigorous and demanding than other high school English courses. Different critical approaches to literature are taught. Essays are primarily persuasive in form and emphasize a close reading of the literature with critical writing. A research paper is an essential part of second semester. Students may also choose to enroll at Rockhurst University for college credit.
