Welcome to the course website for
Marketing Research, BMKT 360 - Spring 2003 Semester!.

This course is designed to introduce students to the approach to business that is based on the scientific gathering, recording, analysis and interpretation of relevant information. The aim is to provide an understanding of the broad scope of Marketing Research and its role in business, involving an appreciation of both the theoretical concepts and the practical implications, with emphasis on the latter (i.e., the application of research to aid in the solution of marketing problems).

The course is intended to give you the marketing research skills necessary to be an effective manager in a marketing research oriented position or in a general marketing or business management position responsible for requesting and utilizing marketing research from internal or external suppliers.

The course will be taught in a practical, hands-on manner, with the main project consisting of a "real-life" market research survey where students will gain valuable experience in the planning, design, analysis and communication of marketing research.
