Dear parents, guardians and students:
Welcome back to my website. A quick reminder: Open House is September 4, 2008. I look forward to meeting many of you and hope that we can establish an open forum to help your child be a success.
WHAT'S NEW FOR SEPTEMBER? (The following is a summary, for details check out your student's binder)
7th Grade:
Students will be reading Tangerine. A novel that speaks about loyalty, family ties and standing up for what you believe in. Students will also be doing their daily journal, practicing vocabulary and writing detailed paragraphs with new transition words.
8th Grade
This is a very important month for 8th graders. They will be learning about basic essay formatting, practicing both expository and persuasive writing and learning about using more sophisticated transitions.
Last but not least: I want to remind both parents and students that writing in blue or black ink is a rule in my class. This includes homework. I also want to remind students that no late work will be accepted and to do their best. Even if an assignment is difficult, students should always try. Thank you for your continuing support.
