Hello! My name is Patricia Taylor and I teach first grade at Towne Acres Elementary School. This is my ninth year teaching at Towne Acres. I have taught for seventeen years in grades Pre-K, K, First and Second.
As seen by the photo, I enjoy some acting. This is from a musical I did about five years ago "You're A Good Man Charlie Brown". I played Sally. I'm not sure if I was very good but I had a great time! I also enjoy singing, drawing and running.
My family and I moved here nine years ago. My husband, Brian and I have three children: Brittany - 25, Zach - 23 and Carrie - 17. My son just got married a year ago so I have a new daugther-in-law, Anna Lora. My family and I keep very busy in many activities consisting mostly of church activities.
MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
Happiness Is .... First Grade
I selected the theme for our classroom as T.E.A.M. (Together Everyone Achieves More) to help build teamwork in the class. The classroom should be a place where every child is respectful of and helpful to each other. When everyone works together, the classroom can be an exciting place to learn!
I believe every child can learn. Children learn through different styles and techniques of instruction. I try to incorporate a variety of activites to reach each child. My classroom may be filled with singing, creating, acting, reading, writing, inquirying and problem solving.
