In The Cure by Sonia Levitin, Gemm 16884, living in the far advanced future, has been getting strange dreams lately where music, the banned for hundreds of years aggression causer, was influencing him to do illegal actions to his friends and his soul partner Gemma 16884. When Gemm went out of control by singing and trying to dance one night and climbed up a rock wall alone he was taken away to the mysterious Elders’ court after his conference about changing his ways with the leaders of his sector. There, he was given the choice to change his ways by being completely disposed of, or recycled, or to partake in the Cure. The Cure is a life changing process that shows what really happened before anything other than peace and tranquility and utter harmony. Gemm agrees to The Cure and is then put into the world of the middle ages and the life of Johannes. Johannes is a Jew, meaning his family and him are put into a different class. Johannes is a 16 year-old musician living in the city of Strasbourg. Johannes must face the cruel ways of the Christian people’s minds while maintaining his own religious morals.
