A common noun is any noun that is not a name and does not require a capital letter. Pronoun: A pronoun takes the place of a noun. Adjective: An adjective is used to describe a noun or pronoun. Verb: A verb is an action or state of being. It can tell what the subject of the sentence does or has. It can also "link" a word in the predicate to the subject. Adverb: An adverb describes a verb, adjective or another adverb. Preposition: A preposition shows how two things or ideas are related. It introduces a prepositional phrase. Interjection: An interjection expresses strong feeling, like "Wow!" To play this game, pick a point value in a category. Then type the word or words that you think answer the question.
