VTG "Author's Helpers" Vocabulary Practice
THE AUTHOR'S HELPERS When you read a good book, you might thank the author. It takes more than just an author to produce a good book, though. The author writes the story. Then an editor reads the print. He makes sure all of the words are spelled correctly. He might cut out sections. He might ask the author to write more. An artist draws the pictures to go with the book. The pictures help tell the story. An artist needs a good imagination. She may also draw a picture for the cover of the book. The cover attracts us to the book. If we like the cover, we might choose the book. If we don't notice the cover, we might pass up a good book.
