In 1325 the Aztec founded their capital at Tenochtitlan and gradually gained control of the Valley of Mexico. Meanwhile Cuzco became the capital of the Incas whose empire eventually spread throughout the Andes. The Ojibwa people of North America established trade on the Great Lakes in 1500.
